Terry Records with KORN's Jonathan and James

As I finished the Bozzio/Levin/Stevens mixes in LA I got a call about a session I could do before leaving for home.
Richard Gibbs (ex-keyboardist for Oingo Boingo) was producing and co-writing music with Jonathan (lead singer) and James AKA "Monkey" (lead guitarist) of "KORN" for a movie soundtrack for the yet to be written screenplay of the sequel to Ann Rice's "Interview with a Vampire".
I was without my tech Wayne or any clothes to play the drums in! Drum Doctors in LA helped with the set up, as well as my "Woodland Hills Drum Club" buddy, Barry Schneider.
I was really happy about the music, which was heavy, electronic, cinematic and perfect for a Vampire flick.
The Korn guys were very cool and dug all my sounds and ideas. I feel it was some of the hippest stuff I've gotten to play in a long time!
I did 2 tracks on my own, then overdubbed some stuff on a track that Vinnie Coliuta had cut the day before. So, this is the first time Vinnie and I got to be on the same track together! And I'm really happy about that as well, not only because he's one of the best and one of my favorite drummers, but because before Frank Zappa died, he told both Vinnie and I that we had to play together. He thought it would be like Buddy Rich and Gene Krupa, but of our generation. I know we've wanted to be able to do this, but it has not been possible 'til this track happened!
Both Jon & James were amazed at my kit and every time I took a break, they would go out and play on it! (Jon was originally a drummer!)
I have some video I will ask them to let me use on the website so you all can share in the experience!

The BLS album is now mixed, we all wish we had more time and options for this project but as always, the finances were limited. The music is great, excellent playing by all, album should be out soon, tentatively titled "tragic ". (if you can't find it in stores, you can get it here.)

The NAMM show was as hectic and unsettling as usual for me-I was not able to have more than 2 sentences with anyone before someone else intervened!!
Regardless of that fact, some things were planned and discussed with: Attack for some new drum head improvement developments, with Sabian for planning 2 new Radia boxed sets for a more consumer/dealer friendly marketing approach (one box is a traditional ride/crash/hihats set - the other a specialty sounds box including a medium china/heavy bell/cup chime/and 2 small splashes... I think this will make the vast choices of the Radia line easier to deal with), and with DW I've got the proto-types of my new "Tune Secure" lug locking invention (which will once and for all eliminate lug de-tuning and back screwing, while allowing easy and accurate tuning and head changing for DW's or any manufacturer's drums), they should be out this year.

As to be expected, I saw many, many of my friends from my travels and experiences over the years. Here are a few "that's me with..." digital pictures
